When linguistics professor Henry Higgins boasts that he can pass off Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle as a princess with only six months' training, Colonel George Pickering takes him up on the bet. Eliza moves into Higgins's home and begins her rigorous training after the professor comes to a financial agreement with her dustman father, Alfred. But the plucky young woman is not the only one undergoing a transformation.

i enjoyed this kinda. leslie howard’s character, henry higgins, was not likable at all. wendy hiller did very well at playing eliza doolittle. i still think my fair lady is a better version of this tho.

A while back i read the stage play book (which i really enjoyed) and it’s crazy how this film is exactly what i pictured in my head back then! I’m so stunned. Now i’m curious if there are other amazing stage plays out there with film adaptations :D
