Part 3 tries to go back to being a dark and serious horror movie after the wacky second film but the end result is just super average Viggo Mortensen is easily the best part of the movie playing a totally psycho member of the family and Leatherface looks pretty cool with his giant new chrome chainsaw The main problem is that the studio heavily censored the film to avoid an X rating so a lot of the brutal kills feel cut short and choppy The plot is completely unoriginal and follows the exact same formula of tourists getting lost in the woods that we have already seen a million times It is a watchable slasher if you have nothing else to do but it is totally forgettable.
