Entertaining, but not the greatest film by any stretch of the imagination, Annabelle is a pretty weak entry in The Conjuring universe. I have to say the acting was subpar at best, and the pacing was very off, but the few moments of tension scattered here and there are great, and the demon itself is pretty cool-looking (though nowhere near as cool as Valak). Doesn't really explain much about the demon lore either, which is a bit of a bummer, but that's the general feeling all around this film anyway.
