After having only seen this and Police Story, I can’t emphasize enough how much dopamine Jackie Chan’s end-credits bloopers give me. I’m gonna watch as many more as I can just for those bloopers.
This was honestly disappointing. When there were stunts, this was an absolutely marvelous time. That final fight sequence is unbelievably fun. Jackie Chan’s occasional hat-hanger trickshots are consistently funny. The stunts are great, just like you’d expect out of a Jackie Chan film. However, the story is super tough to follow, and there’s a roughly one-hour patch where there are absolutely zero stunts, barely any good jokes, and just a lot of talking. It completely derails what could’ve been spectacular. It definitely shows Chan’s directing capabilities beyond just action, but I could’ve just gone into this expecting the wrong thing. Who knows?
