Jeff Bridges gives a very understated performance in this film about a country artist seeking redemption within his career. It’s not bad per se, but it feels dry like a dirt road, so I think I’m good on watching it again. I’m not too into country music either, so I can’t say that helped too much

Pretty formulaic. If it just went a little deeper into the character study it could have been great. I kept thinking that this is the role that Jeff Bridges was born to play, and then remembered that’s how I feel every time he’s in anything.

Very meh movie. Honestly don’t see the hype about it. Sure the lead actor does a great job but not "keeping you on the edge of your seat" good as described from others. And not Oscar’s winning great either. 

It felt like they saw this movie and felt like it had so much more to give and then made A star is born. This movie lacks intensity. Almost like the directors were to afraid to make something extravagant fearing it could ruin the whole movie. The characters were not deep and there problems were definitely not something we haven’t seen before. A drunk guy falling in love with a younger divorced girl who has nothing more interesting about her. 

The only "edge of my seat" part about this whole movie was when Bad lost the little boy. And for a brief moment I thought the little boy would never be found and something mildly interesting would happen.

But it was a good lead actor and the music was pretty decent too so the movie gets a 2,5/5
