This movie was beautiful, a really nice, old school movie, with the inventions of the modern filmmaking. The 30's style acting, visuals, lighting is great, the cast was good, the story lists the simplest monster movie tropes, but does them justice. On the other hand, the dinosaur chases and the log falling (or ANY scene where the CGI stuff interacts with the people really) are the worst, AI looking CGI I've ever seen, I would rather have watched something like the old monster movies, like in "The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms", with the layering.

Overall a nice watch, a bit dated in terms of CGI, but a good movie nonetheless

This was a foundational film for myself during my childhood. It was fun to go back and rewatch such an influential movie, even if it's an over bloated CGI mess. There are moments of true shock and wonder, and then there are moments that look right out of The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl. There isn't really a need for the 3 hour runtime, but its a faithful, more modern adaptation of the classic monster movie.
