fantastic but heartbreaking movie. one of my favorite dicaprio performances, completely captivating in how he portrays hughe’s deteriorating state. blanchett is a powerhouse too, stole every scene she was in. for a movie this long i’m surprised by how not-long it felt, probably due to the great pacing and performances. not as fast or electric as scorsese’s other films but still has the scorsese sauce. loved seeing willem dafoe randomly pop up for one scene
