my movie-watcher brain tells me this one isn’t that good, but in reality it’s exactly the type of story that was manufactured to have me as an audience member. you have John Lennon all over your soundtrack, Al Pacino in the main role as an aging rockstar trying to reconnect with his adult son, and fun dynamics and good banter for all your characters. in some ways, i think it would have benefited from a slightly longer runtime to develop certain plot points, such as Danny singing his new songs on stage, which felt a bit unfinished. but i truly enjoyed the experience i had with this one, and the last scene in particular was very well delivered.
