somehow much better than i was expecting. stupid and mean-spirited, but fun. the actor who plays micah is absolutely great. that kid was SCREAMING. could have done without the completely uncritical magical native trope. justice for dr. red bear. he died for those white folks 😔

highlights:- "WHAT is all this SHIT about the CORN???"- graffitied arrows in the elementary school that point to pictures of the presidents and say "defiler"- heart-warming romance scene interrupted by CORPSES (unexplained)- leaving a massive bonfire unattended in the middle of a bunch of brittle corn- weird side plot about the town selling rotten corn?? that just happens???

while this is a bad film, it still outdoes nearly everything about the first film.

i just don’t really understand how this franchise has so many films, i don’t think it even really deserves a sequel never mind 15 films. i kinda hope it gets better but if it doesn’t then.. one thing i will praise this film for is unlike its predecessor, it isn’t boring as shit. this film embraces camp with its bizarre humour and unrealistic over the top gore. and i just generally think the characters are just more interesting. with that all being said, there’s not really any plot. just really cooky characters, annoying kids and blood splatter, i 100% prefer this to the original as the first one takes itself way too seriously. this film managed to keep me awake and for that it’s a worthy sequel which is just more interesting. also i absolutely despise this cover!! what were they thinking
