Kirk Douglas is fantastic in champion and his character only becomes more of what he was at the beginning of the film. At first he's a dick who seemingly loves people, but won't be pushed around, but slowly and slowly rising through the ranks basically makes him a cold hearted beast who forgets all morals to be the champion in the film. He cheats his manager,brother and his mother out of seeing him one last time and is super creepy towards women.
