i genuinely forgot how good this movie is.

ngl the colors stood out to me immediately. Alamos town looks so beautiful, and then the nightmare stuff hits and everything feels off. the contrast is so well done.

Darkrai being so misunderstood while still choosing to help is really touching. and the Pokémon variety in this movie is also so good, some are insanely cute, some are sick as hell. Dialga and Palkia fighting and literally tearing reality apart is such a cool concept, and the battle is too, but didn’t overshadow the emotional parts. the story always stays grounded in how this affects the town and everyone in it. the whole nightmare and time space distortion idea is amazing.

also, i LOVE Alice. her connection with Darkrai is so sweet, it actually made the movie for me. she helps Pokémon by playing literal music for them, that’s genuinely one of the cutest concepts i’ve ever seen in the franchise so far. music as comfort. speaking of music, the soundtrack in this, also is goated.

this movie just feels full of heart. easily one of my favorite Pokémon movies now. i loved it way more than i expected to.

Also the absolute ferocity in the fight between Palkia & Dialga.. they’re the definition of on sight
