(a lot a lot a lot of "i love how"s coming up)this is actually really good i have like zero complaints sorry if some parts are like, redundant i wrote this while watching because i needed to pen down my thoughts immediately while they're fresh in my mind i had a lot of thoughts
♂this reminded me of the breakfast club, kind of like a dialogue driven style film. but i liked this more than the breakfast club, not to say the themes are the same but there's a different angle here. the concept is similar though, a bunch of people (friends) having a conversation in a single location which this film is set throughout.
i love how they can all agree to disagree with each other and so openly criticise each other's points of view. the insults just kept coming but they all took it relatively well all in the name of friendship and i feel like that's quite healthy. to be able to talk to your friends about everything and though they disagree they still love you.
i like how they unpacked everything that went down and unpacked even further their theories. felt like it was going somewhere. i really enjoyed their discussion.
some might say that this was a whole load of bullshit and there's nothing in this. well yes and also no, because though this was literally all just about their love lives and how to get chicks, it felt like an accurate enough representation in a friend group because each character had their piece to say and delivered it well. to be honest it was pretty entertaining because it was funny.
and i heard fag more in the first 20 mins than i have ever heard in my entire life
♀everything the girls mentioned is every voice in my head every single time i have an existential crisis. they're so real. it's true that there is a pain, and a thought at the back of all our minds about "what if relationships don't last?" and it's very valid. i think that all the time and it haunts me a lot. that part about seeing things for not what we want them to be but the reality hit really close to home as well, like, wow i've really never had an original thought. that statement is most times applicable, sad but true.
i love how these women are also able to voice out their opinions to each other and hold a nice conversation about the topic on double standards etc. i'm pretty sure we all have all these different thoughts every day. and it's the way they're all right to a certain extent, there is always a backup for each of their arguments. they all have their reasons and i respect that. this literally needs to be studied, i think i need a rewatch to properly absorb this again.
⚥i love how there are the opinions of both men and women here. i thought it was quite hilarious and cool that we were jumping in between conversations of the duos, using the last word of the former as the starter of the conversation for the latter. it was a great editing choice. added more flavour. i love the way they each fuel each other's dialogue and also help each other understand their situations better. benefits for all. they all made one another think and that's kind of the beauty and art of conversation.
hearing the insights from each of them made me feel oddly woke, as if i've never heard any of that before, but i have obviously. in recent years there just has been so much more talk about this whole gender thing and equality and what men and women think and how our opinions differ and whatever.
i love the bloopers at the end it was really cute and i love matthew lillards acting it made the slow parts of the first bit so much better
