I know a lot of people who don’t watch Asian cinema in general based only on their prejudices, and it’s a shame because they’re missing incredible films. As in many youth dramas, the film does not romanticise violence. The characters do not resort to it for pleasure, but because it is the only life they know. The death of the protagonists, and the idea of remaining young forever, works as a form of rebellion against what the system seemed to have dictated for them: becoming adults without empathy, like the people who caused them the most damage.

Thanks to this type of film I have realised the impact that cinema, and art in general, has on people. This movie will probably become one of my favourites over time; it's that kind of stories that stay with you long after they end.
