It's vacation time for outdoorsy Chicago man Chet Ripley, along with his wife, Connie, and their two kids, Buck and Ben. But a serene weekend of fishing at a Wisconsin lakeside cabin gets crashed by Connie's obnoxious brother-in-law, Roman Craig, his wife, Kate, and the couple's two daughters. As the excursion wears on, the Ripleys find themselves at odds with the stuffy Craig family.

I love RaccoonsThere are things I liked about this movie. John Candy is as charming as always, and Dan Akyroyd plays an asshole very well. Some of the direction is certain scenes was fun, and the animals stuff was fun, especially with the Raccoons and the Bears on the car. Other than that, I felt more stitled by this John Hughes script because, overall, the movie felt fairly unpleasant. Candy is extremely lovable, and his character isn't a Clark Griswold situation where he's an asshole while still likable. The comedy surrounding Chet trying to have a good time, and being interrupted felt off to me. There are fun parts, but the way they handled the situational comedy could have been better.
