Another Park Chan-wook film with a tragic ending. Somehow this also felt like the most tragic ending of all the Chan-wook films I’ve seen up to this point. I found myself enjoying this film, which was a surprise because I’ve seen a lot of criticism towards it. The script is definitely weak but the acting makes up for it, as well as a decently engaging storyline imo which was just fun up until the ending. I couldn’t imagine how good this movie could be if it was made again today because it really feels like so many good ideas and pieces that just don’t fully come together like they should. To clarify to this is honestly a high 2.5 for me and I almost wanted to go 3 but I don’t think it’s quite there yet. Definitely might be worth a try since it’s free on YouTube too.

Although this looks far more competent, partially thanks to the 2019 remaster, this has an equally weak plot to his previous film and the acting is also not very good.
I dont know why Park was so dedicated to erasing these 2 films.
