I am being spoken to, and too ashamed to answer back.
Every singular day I am beyond disgusted with myself that I am not able to provide any sort of reprieve to the Palestinian people. You'll go to any protest near you, donate all you can spare, educate yourself and others, but, for what end? The struggle seems eternal, every step a steady march of meaninglessness.
Godard opted to make his contribution in the fashion of a film. A film where he'd ask the viewer to discuss with him their autonomy, and the role of his medium.
The lens of the camera is only as impartial as the man filming. The statements of the newscaster are only as objective as the studio funding him. The top dollar has already long infiltrated the human mind.
Ultimately, everything in the machine of capital is purposed to subdue the individual. Godard is more than cognizant of his role in this facade. The death of Jusqu'à la victoire bore cynicism and despair in the maestro. The human race has been made pliant and subservient. Especially in this present, we are shown the truth more than enough, yet much too content in seeking other stimuli to ignore it. How long must we learn from the past before reaching out for the ever so promised better future?
Until victory, until every oppressor is dead and buried, we will struggle. See the truth in all things.
