Caroline, a young waitress who seems to have bad taste in men, is on her way home one night when thugs attempt to rape her. Adam, the mysterious busboy who works at the same diner, helps fight off the assailants, and she begins a relationship with him -- but not all their fellow Minnesotans are happy for them. Meanwhile, the couple face their own difficulties when Caroline finds about Adam's past, including his unique health condition.

I would've thought this was the most romantic movie in the world had I seen it when I was 13.
That being said, the ending devastated me. They deserved to live happily ever after.

this movie was lowkey unintentionally funny but i was also insanely high. i watched a walk to remember with my grandma and it was really good so i let her pick another movie to watch since i was having a little sleepover with her and she picked this one lol. she said it was one of her favorites but she absolutely hates the ending, she gave it 4 ☆’s. me personally i thought it was a little weird how he was following her home and going inside of it?😭 i was kinda hoping he would stay alive to get the transplant but im ngl i giggled when she opened and shut the door trying to wake him up not realizing he was dead, it was no longer funny lol. probably won’t rewatch but im glad i watched it today
