Prometheus, on an Odyssean journey, crosses the Brooklyn Bridge in search of the characters of his imagination. After meeting the Muse, he proceeds to the "forest." There, under an apple tree, he communes with his selves, represented by celebrated personages from the New York "underground scene" who appear as modern correlatives to the figures of Greek mythology. The filmmaker, who narrates the situations with a translation of Aeschylus' Prometheus Bound, finds the personalities of his characters to have a timeless universality.

말 더듬는 보이스오버와 산발적인 편집에 10분 정도 지나면 최면 걸린 것처럼 빠져든다. 겹치고 충돌시키고 반복하고 끼워넣는 등 할 수 있는 실험은 다 하는 느낌. 신화와 현대를 초 단위로 왔다갔다하는 아름답고 관능적인 이미지에 매료된다. 보이스오버는 'Prometheus bound'를 읊었다는데 따라가는 데 실패. 이미지도 그렇고 사운드도 그렇고 따라갔다 놓쳤다를 반복하게 되어서 신기하게 난해한데 지루하지 않다.

Watched this experimental film a few days ago before taking a nap. I dont know how to explain the experience. The structure of this film feels like I am stepping in and out of two separate consciouses that are connected by mythology and the cosmos and sexuality. The film flips between a repetition of words patterns and separate images in a way that reminded me of the EMDR treatment I have been doing for the past few year. This film is beautiful and I felt incredibly serene while watching. I am glad it has finally been available to the public.
