Solid performances Lupino and Garfield, loads of great character actors (the waiter!, the Russian dude in the baths!), and amazing (appropriately foggy) cinematography from the goat James Wong. But overall, the film never quite becomes more than the sum of its parts.

Ida Lupino’s career is fascinating to me. I look forward of seeing more of her work. Here she plays a complex female character with her own wants and desires and a rebelliousness that is not vilified. I can’t wait to discover more of her!!
