Celebrating watching the first movie that none of my mutuals have seen. Too bad y'all have such good taste cuz I was pretty disappointed by this. Ethan Hawke, Wesley Snipes, Antoine Fuqua, Don Cheadle, and Richard Gere were not enough to save the pretty tropey writing but I had a good enough time riding the charisma wave.

i was excited to watch this but i didn’t really have high hopes after reading some other reviews on it beforehand.

what am i meant to say other than it was literally just your average crime film? nothing really extraordinary happened?

i do see a lot of similarities with training day in this, its like a follow on from that but jake hoyt has moved to brooklyn, my theory trust.

 i did feel awful for sal because tell me why all he wanted to do was provide a good home for his wife and children and that happened 🥀

When one of the opening scenes is cop Richard Gere waking up, downing some whiskey, and putting a gun to his mouth and dry-firing, I can do nothing but essentially laugh at the immediate cliched insanity on display.

So yeah, that’s kinda where my head was the whole time, not that I would imagine that to be many people’s sense of humor. The cheesy 2000s-10s grit of cop movies is in full force here, and it’s something I can never get enough of.
