When one of the opening scenes is cop Richard Gere waking up, downing some whiskey, and putting a gun to his mouth and dry-firing, I can do nothing but essentially laugh at the immediate cliched insanity on display.
So yeah, that’s kinda where my head was the whole time, not that I would imagine that to be many people’s sense of humor. The cheesy 2000s-10s grit of cop movies is in full force here, and it’s something I can never get enough of.
