pissed me off so much. a whole nation misinterprets the meaning of “survival of the fittest” and makes it everyone’s problem for the rest of time. watching the way these prisoners argue for their lives and the ones in charge constantly dismiss it and talk over them made the whole thing so painfully real and frustrating. It reminded me of that one clip where ted cruz is mourning a Texas school shooting then when asked about gun reform he was basically ahhh shut the fuck up America’s the best country ever this has nothing to do with politics!! This movie may technically be fake but it’s a crazy good reminder of the leaders who do exist out there and will never, ever bother to sympathize with you. angry, angry film.

i cannot stress how important this film is, wow. i can’t believe this was made 55 years ago. everyone with the ability to watch this film absolutely should.
