I was actually rather excited to watch this, and by the time I got to the end I was just bored and vastly disappointed.
I wasn’t expecting phenomenal things, but I was hoping it would still carry some of the whimsy and joy that Classic Who itself does, but I just didn’t get any of that from this which only further sets it apart from the cannon of the show.
Peter Cushing did a great job with what he had, but the idea of making the Doctor (or sorry Dr. Who) purely the eccentric mad scientist and only that, not the moody wizard alien as well, really takes a toll on the character.
