While in concept I enjoy the idea of a campfire ghost story with some eerie music underneath it to ratchet up the tension, I found in execution this film to feel sanitized and plastic. I'm sure that it is colored by watching this in 2024, but it looks like an ad for a weird phone game. Even if this computer animation style in 2013 had been expensive and slick, I think it would have been better if the animation played into the elements of nature and fear. Drawing would have felt more organic and suited for this particular story instead of dead behind the eyes, which is what this is.
