It dares to be the one thing no John Carpenter film before had ever been: boring. I barely have anything to say about it except the way it's really surprising how bad the central romance is, it's absolutely flavorless. They meet in the first 5 minutes, fuck, and then meet again after an hour when he doesn't even have his body anymore and then she is suddenly interested in his personality. It's just so dull. Its only saving grace is Sam Neill, who plays a pretty good villain here, but except for that this film is very hard to get through. For completionists only.
