I thought I had seen this but only snippets were familiar so perhaps its another I only saw ads on TV for as a kid.

The effects are wonderful and hearing a Chase voice over makes you long for a dozen more Fletch movies. But goodness, flat is an understatement. Concave would be more apt. Good call trying to become a dramatic actor, Chevy. He was pretty much done as a leading actor after this.

ILM pulls off some slick effects for the era, but the movie itself never finds a pulse. Zero suspense, zero urgency, and Chevy Chase is a charisma black hole.
