Puppet Master is definitely one of the weirdest horror movies I’ve seen as of late. I love B movies even though I haven’t seen a whole lot of them. They might be cheesy or sometimes poorly made but I still have a soft spot for them. That goes with Puppet Master and its very long series of movies. Seriously, there is like 10 of these things so I’ll watch those eventually.
With this first movie, it’s a very odd premise including magicians dying by puppets. The actual humans are mostly forgettable with the real highlight being the puppets. They are all done pretty well like with Blade and Pinhead. Pinhead is all stop motion which is fairy creative and it did look good.
It’s ending sequence with all the puppets killing the big bad is nicely done (except for Leech Woman) and still that main theme is amazing. Overall, was it amazing? Hell no. Was it fun? Hell yes.
