I was very impressed with the amount of elephants and cultural appropriation in a single film.

Shameless commercial for the circus. Feels like the novelty of colour wore off with this movie because the colour didn’t bring anything to it in the same way that it did for, say, the red shoes. Long pointless scenes of circus acts cut with audience reactions that probably could have taken off an entire hour of the runtime if removed. Buttons the clown was the best part, and his story was still utterly ridiculous. It didn’t fit in with the movie at all. Also, we didn’t even get to see the main plot line resolution, like what was the point of this love rectangle?? The train scene was pretty cool, and for that and buttons, this movie avoids a half star rating.

Watching this movie confirms one thing— High Noon was robbed (Singin’ in the Rain should’ve an actually won Best Picture, but it wasn’t nominated).

I hated this so bad, all flash no substance. I didn’t care about any of the characters except obviously my king, my beloved, Jimmy Stewart. He saved the movie for me and it’s the only reason I’m giving it any stars.
