Cinématon

For roughly 4 months I've been occasionally going through all that's available of Cinematon through this YouTube Playlist and finally I've been able to complete it. Obviously it's not all of it but it's still a lot of it so I'll take it, it's a pretty charming and fasincating if at times a bit tedious exercise in capturing a presense, aura and personality of an individual through stillness and silence that works extremely well when we have interesting lively subjects such as Terry Gilliam, (my favourite) Juliet Berto, Godard, Julie Delpy, Sandrine Bonnaire, Wim Wenders etc but when we have to spend time with more mundane or even quite boring unknown people it really leaves you a bit frustrated especially with how long these can be and feel although that's not to say there weren't any interesting normal faces in the mix like a random baby which apparently was Courant's favorite subject in the whole pile. If you don't want to watch all 156 hours of it or what there is of that length I recommend you just watch ones with the actors or directors you recognise or even liked because beside from them there just wasn't much there to really justify such a length especially for normal audiences although I do have to say watching it sperately in parts does help making digesting this thing a bit more bearable and enjoyable but it is still quite rough to get through at times.
