fireee. the atmosphere is so grimy and oppressive and the whole thing just feels like a nightmare slowly unfolding, even before anything that scary really happens. the twin concept is already creepy, but the way it ties into class and identity adds more depth.
i also love that the ending leaves the breathing body bag ambiguous. i like to read it as the twin dying physically but living on through Yukio, since Yukio ends up experiencing the life the twin was forced into. by the end they kind of become two people in one body, which is kinda even darker.
