Rod and Cherri are the unmistakable king and queen of Echo High. When new kid Spud arrives, he makes a faux pas so bad that Rod forces him to be his girl's slave. What unfolds is the tale of Cherri and Spud's blossoming relationship behind Rod's back, and their untimely demise on the night of the prom. woah, what's this? what kind of a kink fest is going on here?
they're neither alive nor dead they're just in love this movie is sooooooo gnarly i'm in love with it. like it's so high school horny teenagers and true soulmates at the same time, i don't know how to explain it ??? it's just a surreal rollercoaster
i just found out what a double entendre is, lover boy.
the animation and the music are great, it's funny, it's kinda gross and scary when it wants to be, IT'S GNARLY!!!!!!! AND THEY SAY ROMANCE IS DEAD (though it kinda is in this movie... they took undying love a bit too far)!

Thank God I didnt find this when I was in highschool, I'd be so insufferable about it. This is my first Plympton film and I really like how his animation style fits and has a right amount of punchiness to it that benefits the story. I say that because I'm writing this while watching I Married A Strange Person which sadly does not share that same gift. I really appreciate how sweet the love story is between Cherri and Spud and by the time they're skeletal lovers at the bottom of the Echo Lake, it feels so earned and natural, which could have easily not been the case.

I love this freakazoid type shit
