More than anything I think this really just showed me how completely disconnected I am from 911.
The ashes of an old world falling from the sky.
I was born after 911 the world as I know it has always been a post-911 world. Mass political violence isn’t some new era for me It’s just and always has been my reality.
For me, this film, sort of signifies the funeral service for a kind of world that just isn’t possible anymore. The film “peep TV show” from 2003 is a far more accurate depiction of how myself, and I think many people of my age experience the world. For better or worse events like this have just become the standard and a deep powerlessness and disenfranchisement has cemented itself within us.
Maybe we always lived in a post 911 world far before the towers fell but it took September 11 to become the official demarcation point to exactly where the façade fell and disintegrated into dust.
