It is genuinely impossible to enjoy this movie today, it has nothing redeeming about it, even for a B-movie. It's not just low budget, low quality, and unenjoyable, it is fucked up.
I am not the kind of person to make a big deal out of everything, but this was really misogynistic. I didn't know misogyny in the 80's used to be this extreme, uncomfortable, and normalized. Describing the sexual situations as absurd trivializes them. They aren't absurd, they are non-consensual.
The only way I would've enjoyed this movie if I was:
- apathetic
- perverted
- misogynistic
- straight
- a guy
- had no internet access
- no access to p*rn
- a teenager in the 1980s
I hated when stories establish two groups of people as guilty or innocent just to randomly kill some people from both groups. It makes the message of the movie confusing.
Even worse I hated seeing how women were treated in this movie. Real women, very young and impressionable btw, had to get naked and perform embarrassing acts while the men didn't have to do anything like that. Anyone who admits to liking this movie should be on a watchlist tbh.
