Assigned to oversee the development of the atomic bomb, Gen. Leslie Groves is a stern military man determined to have the project go according to plan. He selects J. Robert Oppenheimer as the key scientist on the top-secret operation, but the two men clash fiercely on a number of issues. Despite their frequent conflicts, Groves and Oppenheimer ultimately push ahead with two bomb designs — the bigger "Fat Man" and the more streamlined "Little Boy."

This is the most inaccurate portal of the Louis slotin incident I have ever seen and trust me, I'm an expert.
1) it's not even slotin it's some guy named Micheal
2) it combined Daghlian and slotins incidents. There were no tungsten blocks in the second instance,it was just the screwdriver.
3) it takes place before the trinity test when it took place a year later and Slotin was very much at the trinity test???
4)got how it happened wrong,he wasn't startled,he slipped because he was being stupid. (Also it still had a shim in there?? He removed BOTH the shims)
5) they didn't even him say his famous "well,that does it." Quote
That's not even going into what happens when he's in the hospital
At the very least they did include the correct amount of radiation he was exposed to and him tossing the chalk.

Watching this after Oppenheimer makes you realise it's never the story or the material, but the execution.
Fat Man & Little Boy is the dramatization of the creation of the titular bombs and the background politics behind it.
Unlike the Academy Award-winning film, Fat Man and Little Boy lacks a distinctive style that makes it interesting; the scientific melodrama feels more like a poorly made student film than a complex tale that involves guilt, mixed emotions, and a lot of underhanded politics.
There are some good ideas introduced here and there but never fleshed out. We barely know Oppenheimer in this rendition, so when his lover dies, we don't feel anything because we don't know anything about him and his love life.
There are also moments when the ADR dubbing is very apparent. It's a film that neither works as an educational because it is not interested in being a historically accurate piece nor is it entertaining. So that begs the question, what is this film for? Maybe watching pre-fame Laura Dern.
