Could they like, stop talking to each other for dramatical effect, speaking out loud to themselves to give off a feeling through dialogue instead of acting and delivering exposition while the earth is freezing, microwaving, gaining new underwater (morally intact) residents with tsunamis, getting extreme lightning storms in areas where the technology is that advanced so it is deadly, having huge sandstorms in areas where technology and infrastructure are inferior and people there don't really have a way to escape or guard themselves against this massive attack, and, like, save them or something?
