Before this, I was watching millennium mambo and couldn’t stop thinking about it. Then I randomly came across this movie and started watching. As soon as the intro scene began, mambo music started playing and it pulled me right back into thinking about millennium mambo again, even tho the movie itself didn’t include any actual mambo music but i’ve read earlier about it’s symbolism. I fell asleep halfway through and had a strange dream about Jack from the shining. When I woke up, I continued watching, and I couldn’t shake off the creepy music, the close-up shots of the father’s face, and Michael’s nightmares. All of it felt so unsettling.

I like to imagine that this movie is actually Jack’s childhood story.

Dark humor yay!! I think I’ve gotten too soft for actual horror and too indifferent for actual comedy so I understand why I really liked this and my last watch. The scenes with the school counselor and the parents were my fav.
