I wanted to watch a comedy… well it was a mistake. Because beyond the fact that this film isn’t funny, it’s unsettling.

I think you can laugh about a lot of things — almost anything. But there are ways to do it, with subtlety, with intelligence. And here, it’s just catastrophic.

I also think freedom of expression is great, talking about everything and anything, sure — but there are still things you can keep to yourself. Like these very, very weird fantasies.

And the worst part is the way it’s handled. I mean, at what point does something like rape become a “fantasy”? If that’s a fantasy, go get help. And even beyond that, all the other fantasies in the film take on a tone that’s just… deeply uncomfortable, because there’s basically no consent involved.

Maybe I sound like a buzzkill, but with topics like these, there are ways to approach them. This isn’t one of them.
