This is 20th Century Fox reheating MGM’s nachos.
I’d rather be watching Meet Me in St. Louis but I made a deal with myself not to until November. This version of State Fair is often read as a direct response to it, but it’s unfortunately soooo booooring. Best character is the pig.
But they sure did get a lot of mileage out of “It Might as Well Be Spring.”

Loved the technicolor and wow this is a beautiful film the colors just pop and it is fitting I'm watching this on the day of OU vs Texas which also takes place on the Texas State Fairgrounds.
Love the symmetry of the storylines between Wayne and Vivian.
