It tolls for thee.
I just finished the book which was fantastic, and I thought this was a solid adaption. All these hate reviews must be from people who didn't read/don't get the book smh. I think it's hard to mess up a Hemingway story about shooting Spanish Nazis, especially when you got Gary Cooper (who the actual book character's personality is based on) and Ingrid Bergman in the mix.
You can definitely feel the old big-budget Hollywood flair, which maybe does step on Hemingway's style toes a little bit, but I'm not mad about it. It looks pretty good and I think the dialogue was all taken straight from the novel which is cool.
