This 40 year old man plays a 20 year old better than most 20 year olds.
Despite being well into his 40s, Tennant played the young and arrogant King Richard to perfection. All members of the cast gave everything they had, giving every scene so much weight. Some characters' mics were very quiet, like Richard, for some reason? I had to have subtitles on to hear anything he said.

Tennant’s performance, line delivery, and melodic voice perfectly captures King Richard’s descent from royalty, shifting from a regal, haughty monarch who enjoys pomp and circumstance to a helpless creature wasting away in the dark, clad in rags and chains.
