A very lovely little comedy with a deeper and more profound meaning hidden underneath it. This is a brilliant film about roots and identity, whether you should chase your ambitions even if it isolates you and drags you away from family. I enjoyed this one, it was pretty chaotic and funny with some really nice moments, I liked the friendship between Mimino and the Armenian guy. It’s also really nice to watch a Georgian film! I feel like that’s a country that’s quite underrepresented within media, or maybe that’s just me being passive. The whole message of cultural identity in this film was very interesting actually, especially considering all the different countries where the characters are from were all in the USSR. I’ve not got much else to say, I did get slightly stuck with the story and couldn’t get properly into it. Maybe it’s just me right now!
