Reviewing the original show.ATLA after a rewatch these past few days has become one of my favorite pieces of media ever, truly an entertaining and spiritual experience.
The show explores Masculinity, Redemption, Change, Forgiveness, and Purpose, it’s so well themed and executed unbelievably well, this show creates a a rich world and atmosphere, and the characters are ones you grow to feel attached to yourself, when a piece of media can be escapist and provide complexity in story and thematic value, that is genuinely impressive.
After finishing the show it gave me that melancholy feeling after you finish something great, this show has me reconsidering how I rate art in general.
Here are some takeaways from the show that I gathered.
-Past mistakes or events don’t define who you are it is who you choose to be now
-Pride should never get in the way of Humility and sincerity
-Humility, Diversity of Thought, and Empathy are closer to the definition of strength than power without integrity ever could be
-purpose is something you can rise up to not only chase
-forgiveness is the superior to harboring anger and hate
It’s, it’s just a beautiful show, the music and detail are also amazing,
ATLA is a rectified masterpiece.
