i mean this film was basically following in the exact same direction as the film from 1985 titled just one of the guys did even having the exact same name just switching the genders in the film and having the main guy in this one pretend to be a girl so he could avoid a bully and also get into a music program of his dreams but i’ve got to say that this one wasn’t all that great in my opinion and that the one from the 80s will always be the superior one for me and i know some will say that they are exact same film and it’s true it’s just that the 80s one did it so much better and was alot more entertaining to me especially with how likeable they made the main girl in that one meanwhile in this film it was decent i guess you could say but was at times very boring i probably would have liked it more if it had ended with the bully finding out that the main guy wasn’t actually a girl but instead didn’t care in they ended up getting together like i wanted that enemies to lovers trope to happen but sadly it didn’t like why were so many writers back then so afraid of writing or adding queer characters into their films..
