76/100 A livello di trama è abbastanza semplice anche se sul finale è interessante il ruolo del senso di colpa e la rivelazione sulla morte di Melissa. Il film però brilla veramente a livello tecnico con delle innovazioni che anche oggi a 60 anni dalla sua uscita risultano attuali e riescono a creare paura; ad esempio gli zoom improvvisi oppure la famosa scena in cui Eswai rincorre un proprio sosia per otto stanze identiche. Anche la bambina in sé è estremamente inquietante e sarà recuperato questo trope più avanti in tantissimi altri film.

Another incredible Bava flick! I’m super into his style at this point. Obviously all this movies have really amazing lighting but I really loved the production design on this one.
