The first two, and pretty much only, assaults by the blind dead are among the best and creepiest in the series thus far. Each attack is less explicit in gore and more focused on sustained dread, this series’ trademark. One of the attacks on a woman extends a close-up, then zooms out to reveal her being carried away by the ghouls in a seamless orientation shift. One of the coolest and most black metal skulls put to film is featured here.

First time horror watches in October 25/31

I like this franchise but this one is kind of a snooze. Great idea, it just isn’t that great in execution. It was funny that some characters are so concerned about their friends lost at sea that they changed into sexy bathing suits before they went looking for them.
