Really mixed feelings. Beautiful parts and then absurd parts that almost erase the beautiful. But when it hits it really hits. June is TRULY bustin out all over!!!!!

Sedentary and problematic. Frank Sinatra was supposed to play Billy in this but dropped out at the last minute because he learned that he would be required to do more than one take of scenes (this was the peak of his diva era), or drama with Ava Gardner, I can’t remember. He did record “Soliloquy” prior, and guys, while this movie is stale and just outright wrong at times, some of the songs are really really good. And “Soliloquy” is really really good. Especially Frank’s version, way better than the one in the film. So I guess in short, I had no reason at all to watch this.
