the thing that makes the first toxic avenger movie work so well, and the thing that this film lacks, is how sincerely heartwarming it is despite its wacky and oftentimes mean-spirited nature. this one is a bit meaner, which i don’t have an issue with on its own, but a lot less touching

the fourth wall breaks don’t really work and some of the gags fall flat whilst others are so outrageously cliche that they end up working when they probably shouldn’t. maybe i’m just immature. the taiyaki nose and human basketball were insane

i ❤️ the monster hero. melvin junko is more heroic and philanthropic than any dc or marvel hero
