considered the first splatter film ever made, it’s definitely not good.. but like i respect it i guess?
i did try to enjoy it more: due to my major infatuation with the horror genre, particularly the more grotesque ones (body horrors/splatters) but this really wasn’t doing it for me, at all. it certainly holds historical significance as it pushes boundaries of amount fake blood within film, and every horror fanatic should watch it.. but it’s just not good. it’s filled with hammy, even terrible acting, the dialogue is awful, and it just has a really cheap feel filled with technical flaws (i’ll cut the slack, since its independent) but i think this unintentionally makes quite an hilariously bad experience, which i’d rather have than a boring one. the gore effects are dated, but i can’t fault them much considering they were the best parts of the movie easily. brains being mashed out, tongue ripping, leg removal. the direction felt non-existent, and it lacks any development or suspense. i’ve got to say, the gore gore girls by the same director gave me false hope for this flick: but yeah no.
