Such a bizarre flick. I really do love the 79 Nosferatu so when I learned there was a quasi follow up to it my interest was peaked. Unfortunately as a vampire fan is day this is barely a vamp movie. He’s running around during the day with very little explanation which is strike one two and three. The movie does try to capture the atmospheric tone of the original 79 flick that I love so much. There is some interesting imagery here. I don’t know if I love the long haired look of Nosferatu in this. He looks funky. While watching this I looked into the production of this and predictably it was extremely rocky. To my understanding Klaus Kinski was the main driving force behind this. He wanted to reprise the role and was a main producer behind this. I also assume he wanted to vacation in Venice. This is an extremely strange but oddly charming vampire movie. It’s right at home on Tubi.

Ein Geniestreich - Klaus Kinski als alter Perverser der eigentlich nicht mehr wirklich viel mit einem Vampir zu tun hat, der Dreh hat ihm aber mit Sicherheit sehr gefallen...
