I was looking for a film to watch in work with the brief along the lines of horror, since we are having a heatwave in the U.K currently I just seen this and thought, it’s way to warm to function in the U.K, this looks like it could be fun if not a bit shit and it’s set in a warm country, the heat must of got to me because why did I put this on 😂,

I’ve actually got second hand embarrassment for myself, my co-workers and anyone who has ever seen this film, because despite a intriguing premise and a Intresting backdrop, everything is just swept aside for what is basically a copy of As Above So Below, but while that was fun and had some rich ideas this is uninspired and no amount of James Buckley can save it, maybe it’s because I’m British but I can’t unsee him as Jay, even in White Gold he’s basically Jay and while I like the guy in real life I’m not even sure what he’s doing here, a terrible accent that feels like him doing his best Brett Clements impersonation and all of his lines (as is everyone’s in this film) is just one liners or explanation,

Seriously for about the first 10 minutes it seems interesting and that it’s going to be watchable but mid at best, but the other 80 Minutes is just, cheap jumpscare, explanation, poorly lit areas and terrible writing, what’s starts as a found footage film quickly becomes a style of different camera povs mixed in with your usual film shots, and it just makes it 10x harder to follow and more confusing, any hope I had of giving it at least one star when it got Intresting again in the last 20 minutes died with the terrible C.G.I monsters and ending which just made me laugh,

What starts of as some Intresting ideas quickly becomes a painful and frustrating watch that feels a lot longer than its runtime and is ultimately really boring, poor writing, offscreen deaths and laughable moments, it feels like a cheap copy of better movies that strips away what makes those other movies stand out

As someone who has really big respect for the gods and mythology, I did get a bit scared.
And gotta admit that I am a sucker for camera recorded type of movies.

Okay so this came out at the end of the found footage craze and look, I like found footage and it’s my favourite but the whole point with found footage is the footage, has to be found, so how come we’re seeing cinematic and non point of view shots, if your gonna comite to the found footage aspect then commite to it, it’s all or nothing, it’s so blatantly a as above so bellow rip off, also the ending makes no sense.
