Although I like The End of the Time better as a Doctor regeneration story, The Time of the Doctor is still an excellent send off to one of the most unique incarnations of the Doctor.

Unlike 10th's regeneration, the 11th Doctor was ready to go. He spent most of his life defending innocent lives for centuries until he got old. He was ready to die of old age and was ready to change into the 12th Doctor. That's why the regeneration was so fast, the emotion didn't explode in golden light because he was already ready to go. In fact, Eleven was always ready to die multiple time at the end of each season finale.

In the end, it's a good rewatch to see the send off to the 11th Doctor.
