Solid Western melodrama with some heavy daddy-daughter issues. Stanwyck and Huston both turn in great performances, even if Huston borders on Yosemite Sam levels of ham as the rip-roarin' T.C.
Also really dug Gilbert Roland as Stanwyck's childhood friend/longing love interest, Juan Herrera. Rare to see a Mexican character have more depth than just some bandito in these old Hollywood films (also portrayed by a Mexican actor!)
Finally, Wendell Corey continues to have the most punchable face of any Golden Age actor. Get him outta here!
